An Important Note From Tom Watson Family, Friends, and Work - TopicsExpress

An Important Note From Tom Watson Family, Friends, and Work Associates… Well… the training is almost over… and the epic Ride To Conquer Cancer is right around the corner. 260 km’s of cycling on the weekend of June 15th & 16th to raise funds for cancer research. Yes that’s right people… 260 km’s of bike riding from Vancouver Canada to Seattle Washington... I’ll have a sore butt, but when it’s all done, the pain will be worth it! I’m sending this note to you because you are someone who has supported my efforts over the years. As you likely know cancer has unfortunately left an indelible impact on my life through the loss of my first wife Darlene. In an effort to honor her and help others struggling with this terrible disease I decided to participate in the Ride To Conquer Cancer 2 years ago. The experience was so amazing that I decided to participate annually in the event – and so here we go into my year 3 ride. If we take a moment to think, most of us know someone in our lives that have in the past, or are currently dealing with cancer related health issues. The impact that this disease has on individuals and families is devastating. And so, I am asking you to join me in this cancer research fundraising event. I’ll do the riding for you – in honor of the people you know and what I am hoping to receive from you (friends) – are your best wishes as I ride and some generous financial donations to my Ride To Conquer Cancer athlete account. If you are interested in financially donating to my ride efforts my athlete number is 270094-4. I can be found on the Ride To Conquer Cancer (British Columbia) Web site conquercancer.ca/site/TR?pg=pfind&fr_id=1441 and use my name and my athlete number to get to the donation portion of the site. There are several very special people that I will be dedicating my ride to this year. Kathy’s Uncle Lloyd Stewart Patterson – my son Brad’s girlfriend Lindsay MacDonald – Rec Ex superstar Katy Jessop Tallman, my wonderful friend Mary Hayward, my good buddy Merlin MacNaughton, one of my favorite young men Zack McLeod, my mentor Bob Rose, Kathy’s wonderful friend Diane Tzingounkis, Mom Pack, and of course Darlene Watson. Your giving hearts are much appreciated. Together… let’s find a cure. God bless. Tom Watson
