An Indiana school bus crashed on way to the first day of classes. The Maconaquah School Corporation bus was on its way to Pipe Creek Elementary School about 8 a.m. Friday when it collided with a Jeep on U.S. 31 near Bunker Hill, about 60 miles north of Indianapolis Superintendent Doug Arnold says none of the 18 kindergarten and first-graders on the bus were injured. Arnold says medics checked each student. Sheriff Tim Miller says the Jeeps three occupants, including an 18-month-old girl, were taken to area hospitals. Sixty-eight-year-old Phyllis Whybrew was flown to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital, where a spokesman said she was in serious condition.
