An acquaintance of ours, a young Frenchman named, Pierre, who is the owner of the Big Red One Museum in Omaha Beach, mentioned that he very much enjoyed chatting with us. He is at present still running his museum and trying to collect more artifacts and photographs from every single member of - his main intrigue of interest ever since he was nine years old - one, of many hero allied forces known as the “Big Red One” - 16th infantry - 1st Division’s landing on the shore, which lead to the liberation of Europe – June 6th 1944. We have not seen Pierre for several years, but found him a delightful person, passionate, hard working and dedicated. We enjoyed going to his museum on the way to the D-day museum in Arromanches and he gave me valuable help and advice about my father, Danny who landed, and then, “broke ground” there. I felt fortunate enough to capture one of his priceless quotes from General Eisenhower, which I enclose.
