Request for Proposals Major Sculpture Commission - Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay Cape Farewell, United Kingdom Eligibility: Open to all international artists Deadline: May 8, 2014 Cape Farewell is inviting international and UK based artists from all disciplines and ages to apply with a proposal for artwork for the Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay. tidallagoonswanseabay Tidal Lagoon Swansea Bay will be the worlds first, purpose-built, tidal energy lagoon, capable of generating predictable, renewable electricity for over 120,000 homes for over 120 years. A 16 km causeway, with tidal generators will be built out into Swansea Bay - creating a dynamic walkway complete with visitor centre, viewing platforms and sport and marine science stations. Two shortlisted proposals will each receive a budget of £10,000 to enable further development of the proposals.
