An anecdotal metaphor: I have learned some ways of the physicist - TopicsExpress

An anecdotal metaphor: I have learned some ways of the physicist and the engineer in my studies. I have learned some ways of the designer and the artist in my observations and experiences. I have learned some of these things, but I still have very much left to learn and experience. I see a roller coaster as a beautiful thing, encapsulating each of these disciplines. Due to the design of THIS particular ride, over these last few months I have lost three intended boarders. One, not tall enough yet to ride. One, afraid to ride. One, made it on the ride, but placed a hand over the mouth, the other in the air, and signaled to be excused from the ride. These three I do not judge, for judgement I now see as very unexciting. Every one has their favorite ride. Admittedly, in the design the engineer was perhaps overly ambitious at times, flying on the seat of his pants, and he put a lot of turns and loops at the outset. Frankly, its not very easy on the body. Such a design DOES induce thrills, but with that degree of torque and jerk, the thrills naturally induce headaches as well. Its to be expected, and so I did expect such when I myself boarded. Three other boarders were lost- not a bad number, given basic odds and the intricacy and daring of the design. But for those of us who remain, who have braved the ride thus far, I truly congratulate- all of us- most humbly and sincerely, with the highest degree of praise. Please rest assured. The remainder of the ride has been engineered to include the kinds of thrills that are accompanied with only smooth and enjoyable excitement, very easy on the mind, body, and soul. And by the way, the revolution contained in the design will in fact BE televised. It will be broadcast here, there, and everywhere. I do believe that this roller coaster is the good kind. A good ride is only as good as its design, and only as fun as the passengers that ride it. All aboard. From here on out, I am just one of the passengers, and we are all the engineers. I wonder what twist or turn is coming next. I cant wait... So let us smile, and as much as we can, enjoy this moment and stay as positive as is humanly possible, and is as reasonable to expect. However, I do believe also, the more expectations we create on our design, the less enjoyable our ride will be. But I am only one man, of many passengers, and that is only my opinion. Peace, love, and thanks. :)
