An appeal to all enlightened people of patiala constituency ----------------------------------------------------------------- Speak loud and oppose recent anti women talibani dictats of certain obscurantist, religious forces with feudal and medieval mindset, and highly un democratic,highly patriarchal,anti women and anti Dalit KHAP PANCHAYATS of Haryana. All friends with democratic minds,the votaries of equality and justice for women, those aspiring for an equitable and just India , an India of 21st century,especially the youth, more so the young ladies from universities and colleges should revolt against such retrospective and oppressive attacks on the freedoms of a population ,constituting half of the world. Who are these self styled community leaders to tell us what to wear and what not to wear, whether to use a cell phone or not ?Tell them loudly and clearly that we defy your dictats .tell them that NAZAR TERI MEIN KHOT, AUR PURDAH MAIN KARUN ? Those who dare speak and oppose these reactionary forces, I will call them the building blocks of a just and equitable India. The future of India lies not in religious fundamentalism, but modernity. Let me make it clear that modernity is not synonymous with westernisation, modernity means ,reasoning, questioning the status quo, personality with scientific temper, and breaking the shackles of caste,colour creed or gender discrimination. Your voice against religious fundamentalists and talibani Khaps will take you one step forward towards modernity. Take this step to make this world a better place to live in. Thanks.
