An election will be held in June, for the position of Yuma County - TopicsExpress

An election will be held in June, for the position of Yuma County Sheriff. Jonathon Lynch, currently Sargent at the Yuma Police Department, is officially a candidate for the position. Through the Republican Party’s political process, Lynch was required to petition onto the Republican Primary ballot when he was three votes short of getting 30% of the delegates’ votes at the Republican County Assembly in Wray on March 20th. At the assembly, Kelly Hisam, also from Yuma, was vying for slot in the race for the top law enforcement position in the county. Hisam did not proceed forward, however, Lynch used the 10 days between the assembly and the March 31 deadline to collect the amount of signatures of registered Yuma County Republican voters needed to officially join the race. Lynch and Day will appear as candidates for County Sheriff in a June 24 primary ballot presented to Yuma County Republicans. It is with honor and integrity that this committee is in no way involved in the fact sheet being circulated to inform voters of current indiscretions within the Sheriff’s Office and its current leadership. The Committee to Elect Jonathon Lynch for Sheriff has no intention to pursue negative campaign strategies or to engage in such activity.
