An email sent to Richard Lochhead earlier - Marine Scotland - Scottish Fish Quotas a public asset Dear Mr Lochhead, I have just received a letter from Marine Scotland today regarding the quota which the fishing vessel Radiance has held and traded in for the last number of years. I have purchased and spent money buying out my partner and bought extra quota to trade in the fishing industry and for Marine Scotland to issue today saying it is a public asset is totally out of context. If the certain quota is owned by the Government why have you let us trade (sell, buy and lease plus VAT) the last number of years? With the oncoming independence referendum you need to get your house in order if a lot of fisherman are going to back to back you if we do not know who owns the quota I.e. UK Government, Scottish Government or the private individual. I have already have got in place extra days to fish in place this year on top of the ninety days I have been allocated and now dont know where I stand to buy/lease quota to fish this coming year. Please could you reply to this and confirm where I stand in this latest later from Marine Scotland. Yours faithfully, David McCallum Skipper of M.V. Radiance INS 240 Sent from my iPad
