An email we received today that we thought you might enjoy reading. This kind of report is multiplied over and over and blesses us (used with permission): TLUSA Troop 212 is the newest ministry of my home church (Live Oak Vineyard) in Monrovia, CA. The joint opening and closing for the AHG and TLUSA troops was awesome, even if the kids were a bit bewildered about exactly what to do at times. If memory serves, our Troopmasters initial estimates were around 15-20 boys for the whole troop. Well, we had 40 boys participate in our joining ceremony on Monday, each of them declaring his intention to Walk Worthy. There are many other families in our area who have expressed interest, so I am not convinced we will stop at 40. In fact, I could easily see the troop grow too big for the facility pretty fast. There is a buzz about the troop in the local homeschooling groups. I dont know the background of all the boys involved, but I do know that only 2 of the 10 boys I recruited from my homeschooling group and church have ever participated in scouting before. We are not just getting former scouts, we are reaching families whose Dads have been looking for a way to connect with their boys that is both exciting for the boys and meaningful to their lives. From those whom I know are strong in the Lord and will serve as great leaders to those who are feeling lost and desperate for help in being the Dads they know they are called to be, I can already see this Troop as a place where the men of this community are coming together to help one another Walk Worthy and in so doing to teach their sons to Walk Worthy as well. We are already talking about encouraging more churches in our area to charter AHG and TLUSA troops. (Name withheld), our pastor and COR, is pumped about TLUSA and AHG. He serves at a national level with Vineyard (15 years on the Missions Task Force) and is active among the local pastors in the San Gabriel Valley (we had a bunch of pastors from the area come to our celebration for our new facility last January). I am encouraging him to spread the word through both venues. Gods handiwork is awesome to behold. Walk Worthy, Rob
