An emotional day for my husband, myself and multiple friends and family of Kirk Page, one of my husbands closest friends for over 25 years. Today justice was served for a selfish act of poor self control resulting in the death of a son, brother and dear friend. Today the honorable judge acknowledged that Kirks life was of value and that he had hopes, dreams and goals that were taken from him too soon. 6 years does not seem like enough for taking someones life, but happy to know that this was the maximum sentence and it was carried out today. This horrible tragedy brought so many people together, touched so many lives and opened up some great discussion with my children about the consequences of making poor choices and decisions and how those choices can impact so many individuals.
