An example of how the Customer Service experience begins...at least in the Chuck Burke book of customer service... Today I was thumbing through a magazine, one of those kind of _______ Now, magazines...and I thought, this might be a good advertising vehicle for me. Right clientele, definitely the market I want to target...so I found the section with the advertising reps, and called. I got voicemail for both of them. The first had a generic electronic outgoing message that providers, well, provide...Im sorry 555-1212 is not available. Please leave a message after the tone, or to end this call press * I hung up. The second number listed also gave me voice mail. Hi! This is ( sales rep name, with the so and so company). Im sorry that I cannot talk to you right now, but please leave a message and I will call you back. Or if you like, you can try my land line at 555-1212. I look forward to talking to you I left a message. Two reps, same company, selling the same item. Customer service does not take a lot, and often it is the first line of defense for a small business. I cannot tell you how many clients I have gotten simply because 1) I answered my phone, and 2) did it professionally.... Just my two cents. Want change?
