An example of the lack of any govt control, and the presence of non-descript heavily armed mobs/crowds/militias free and unrestrained. The Benghazi attack (or whatever you want to call it) was just one of many incidents where violence-bent crowds (sympathizing with AL Qaeda or not) suddenly go wild. In Benghazi, as soon as they breached the wall, it was over. No one (and particularly - air power) could have changed the outcome. Although I will admit even though once it started no general, no ambassador, no president could have stopped it in fifteen minutes, I DO think the State Dept dropped the ball. Once Ghadafi was overthrown and it was obvious that violent armed militias were uncontrollable, the US State Dept should have closed down and boarded up every single US facility in the country except the one Embassy in Tripoli. We should have withdrawn our people until a new govt was approved by the United Nations and recognized by our govt.
