An exciting afternoon of water rocket launching has seen Australia finish high up on the leaderboard. In very tricky gusty conditions, of the 72 competitors, Jaden was only one of six students to land both launches inside the 8m target circle with a closest of 7.15m to the 80m target, finishing sixth in the combined section. After changing her rocket for her second launch, Louise was able to recover to land her rocket 4.22m from the target to finish in 11th place for nearest the target. Only 33 of 144 rockets managed to overcome the wind to land in the 8m circle, with the Malaysian winner landing 0.98m from the target on the very last launch of the day. Second and third places were filled by Japanese students with 2.34m and 2.40m. Jaden and Louise should be extremely proud of their achievement and the way in which they have represented our school and their country over the weekend.
