An hours drive took us on a Sharjah desert safari adventure, the highlight being a must-try thrilling experience on a 4x4 SUV on a dunes bashing trail, amidst enjoying the desert picturesque view and sunset. Setting off with a convoy of 7 SUVs, our experienced dunes basher hit the dunes highs and lows, the ride akin to a roller coaster with its jerks and drops. Definitely not for the faint hearted or those with motion sickness. Its really an exhilarating experience. The tour was followed by a visit to a desert campsite where we took camel rides and enjoyed dance performances of belly dancing and the Tanoura Dervish dance (swirling dance). BBQ and Middle Eastern delicacies ended the evenings stomach fill. A lovely experience .....
