An interesting and historical place to stay in Normandy, where the walls of the property still have bullets lodged in them! The House was used as the Regimental Headquarters of The U.S. Parachute Infantry Regiment, during the D Day landings in 1944. The property changed hands several times between the Germans and the Americans over a 3 day battle to secure the strategic location of Angoville-au-Plain. Owners David and Sue, have researched the history of the property with the help of local enthusiasts and have a private collection of artefacts and vehicles open to guests. Here the aim is to provide a comfortable places to stay, whilst retaining all of the historic features of the property and hope visitors with a strong appreciation for keeping history alive, will appreciate (and love) the property and area. A choice of 4/5 en-suites over two floors (for up to 12), kitchen and courtyard, bookable by room and/or the whole house on a self-catering basis. Ideal for visiting D Day Landing sites and museums, such as the Normandy Tank Museum, Pointe du Hoc, Ste Marie du Mont (The first village to be liberated in Normandy), Lounges sur Mer Gun Battery, Colleville Cemetery, Arromanches, Pegasus Bridge, Utah and Omaha Beaches.
