An invasion by any other name is still an invasion. Naturally, this will upset Europe and BO for at least, oh, say a few weeks, and we will be really, really, really mad at them………Might even pick our collective diplomatic noses and fling the pickings at Russia to show just how serious we are……Meanwhile, China continues to arm up, act out aggressively in the Pacific, claiming territory that isnt theirs, Venezuela is on the brink of boiling over, N.Koreans are, well, being their typical bad actors, and ethnic and religious strife continues to embroil significant parts of Africa. So this is a perfect time for America to cut back on our own defense spending, cutting benefits to our retired and current military, axing military procurement programs, or simply continuing to mothball Navy ships. I doubt seriously that any of these bad actors around the world would wonder where Ronald Reagan stood on such issues, or he might guide the US to respond, urging Margaret Thatcher to repay our support for Britains fight to regain the Falkland islands.
