An official with the Oakfield School District says there was smoke, but no fire at the junior/senior high school this morning. Jackie Hungerford is the administrative assistant to Superintendent Sue Green. She says someone noticed smoke in a bathroom and there was an electrical smell up in the ceiling. The fire department was called and students were evacuated. It turned out a faulty motor was the cause of the smoke, but there wasn’t a fire. An electrician who works for the school checked the motor out to make sure it was safe before students were allowed to return to classes.
