An old Ford Bronco passes dangerously fast in front of my house. Its white but has a blue front end . His brother in law welded it on 3 months ago after yet another wreck. He had been relegated to picking up the kids and a cousin since he was on disability. He had taken his last loricet this morning and had already contacted a friend of a friend to see how he could get some more. He had already lifted a hundred from his wifes purse as she was sleeping. She had a real good job at the car plant . Loricets dulled the pain and didnt stink like the bourbon he used to consume. It helped him get through the day and not care about the wispers and gossip behind his back about him being half the man he used to be. He blinks just in time to avoid a chipmunk scurrying across the road. Becky had already had the local preacher talk to him. His grandmother called last week and cried and told him she loved him. She sent some fried peach pies over last thursday. Maybe he says maybe i ought to --- And thats the news from the front porch in Woodstock .
