An old friends name popped up on my Facebook home page this evening. It was a “pass a long” reference from one of my regular contacts back at our old church in Downers Grove, Illinois. It served as a reminder to me how the Lord uses some people more than others and how a persons testimony can be used as a very powerful outreach for the Lord’s Glory. In Chris’ case, it also involved his parents conversion to Christ along with his own from their collective Chinese background. I had the privilege of knowing Chris and his parents on a weekly basis for about three years starting when they joined our congregation around 2003. The family also attended our Sun School class before our morning service as well providing even more personal contact. As time went by, this young man, named Chris became ever more involved in his Christian studies at Moody Bible Institute and several of us men found ourselves attending various mens functions like Moodys Conferences and Promise Keepers type gatherings along with him and his father. (I had attended about 7 of those major event Promise Keepers weekend sessions over the years earlier ... along with 60 to 70,000 other attendees on average.) Chris has one of those absolutely amazing testimonies, covering some of life’s deepest experiences. I see now where he has attained his “Doctorate” as well. He decided early on that he could “move the mountains” with the Lord’s help and it appears by the look of his current and past years schedules that he has achieved that as he continues in the Lords’ service through testimony and education of others in a very difficult area of life not offered by very many others. Rather than ‘rattle on”, I will simply suggest that if this poses the least interest to you, to take the time in “researching” his Facebook site and the various leads it offers. Find a video of his testimony if you can, it is rather lengthy, but spell binding. Check out his “current schedule” which is already booked through the summer. Think of how many people he is reaching with his message and the Gospel message combined. Take time to click on the button offered at the end of the current several pages scheduled entitled “Past Messages”.... they date back to 2007 and offer more beyond that. He was starting this outreach speaking “ministry” around 2005-2006 as we were preparing to move to Missouri. On two occasions, he took groups of 12 of our members to China for two weeks of “missionary efforts” which included teaching English and sharing the Gospel .... along with some fun time of course with “Tour Guides” who knew ALL the ropes with donated housing included. I very much would have enjoyed going, but we were in the midst of selling our home that same month, and moving shortly thereafter. As he started making his presentations, the word of mouth traveled rapidly, leading him to speaking engagements all around the world .... although he appears to remain based in the Chicago area. Attached is a picture of Chris and family with me at our farewell Sunday School party. They are presenting Martha and me with a gift on behalf of our class who were all in attendance. The second picture shows the beautiful framed gift we recieved. Also listed are several testimony presentations, one is only 12 minutes, but the other is closer to an hour with greater detail. I found it kind of neat to watch some of the Chinese presentations offered, just to see the audience reactions to his message. I realize that this is will be of interest to only a “limited” audience, but felt it was worth the effort for an “old friend”.... Highest regards in Christ, Bill
