An open letter and frank appeal to the GOP: Dear Tea Party, GOP, and supporters, During the current - unnecessary -government shutdown debacle which youve collaboratively created, youve shown your hand - your ignorant, bigoted, delusional, greedy, unreasonable, fear and power mongering hand. Youve placed the GOP in a quandary - a quandary, by almost all public indications, the GOP enthusiastically embraced - however willingly or unwillingly, privately. Thanks to you, Tea baggers - and many others among the GOP ranks - the GOP has placed itself in the position of having to try to appease a wide variety of unreasonable, unjust, unconstitutional, immoral, greedy and mutually exclusive demands - from a variety of radical, fascist, bigoted, misogynistic, extremist, ultra-wealthy, corporate, private military, special interest and Christian theocratic organizations and ideologues. These interests have now quite literally bought and paid for the GOP and Tea Party - and many of these personally interested parties hold positions of power among your ranks. The ongoing sabotage of your party comes from within and from without. You have successfully created a public media bubble and political echo chamber which have allowed you to create and propagate a convincing alternate reality thats caused and allowed you to morph into your current delusional, harmful and self-destructive form - but that bubble is beginning to pop, and the echo chamber is cracking. The allegedly socially and fiscally conservative Republican and Tea Party platforms and agendas have become the epitome of greed, privatized profit at socialized cost, power-mongering and bigotry - and the utter violation of human, Constitutional and civil rights. You claim to want fiscal responsibility, but youve demonstrated yourselves to be wholly irresponsible - fiscally and otherwise - with your positions of power. You claim to want small government, but you just want to cherry pick government. You want bigger government for the things which support and enrich your panoply of special interests, and smaller government for the things which work against those interests. For short-term, dubious, alleged gains, you want to irresponsibly sell off and privatize public assets we the tax payers - and your alleged constituents - paid for, while we the tax payers fit the bill. You rail against your straw man socialism, while being fully in favor of actual socialism, when it comes to privatized profit at socialized cost. You rail against socialism where people are taxed and actually get services rendered for that investment, yet are in favor of (a form of) socialism where people get taxed, they get zero services rendered, and the profits go directly to private and personal interests. Your combined, incoherent ideologies are not conservative in any way, shape, or form - they are simply delusional, immoral, genocidal and suicidal. These are the primary reasons why there is so much disagreement, disarray, and lack of leadership among your parties... Too many competing, pragmatically mutually exclusive radical ideologues and interests are driving your platform, policy, and politics. And it is worth noting: The only people who blame this government shutdown, the threat of U.S. government debt default, and the impending global economic catastrophe to follow, squarely upon Democrats are the ignorant, delusional ideologues who youve successfully reached with your ongoing, incoherent, bigoted, factually inaccurate propaganda campaigns. Every other informed, reasonable person on the planet, sees exactly whats going on - and your true motives. In 2011, the last time you used the threat of debt default as leverage in your attempt to advance your incoherent, unreasonable policy agendas, you cost the U.S. Billions of dollars, successfully lowered the U.S. governments credit rating, and significantly slowed the rate of recovery from the economic disaster your two-term Republican president, George W. Bush, almost single handedly created. This is but a small taste of the harms your irresponsible political games then caused, and these harms were not a result of a government default; these harms were caused by the mere threat of default. Thursday, October 17, 2013 is the Republican/Tea Party day of reckoning... No, Im not taking about a Biblical Armageddon, many of the delusional, religious among your virtually unseprible parties think is in the process of unfolding; Im taking about the self-destruction of the GOP. You have pressed the self-destruct button, and the timer is nearing zero. The GOPs only way to defuse the suicide vest you designed, happy harnessed, and gleefully armed is to start by: 1. Swiftly removing from your ranks, the Tea Party - forcing them to stand on their own, financially and politically. Once the GOP stops financially and politically supporting the Tea Party, the GOP will have less concerns about being out primaried - and can then demonstrate reasonable, responsible leadership. This may result in sort-term electoral losses to Democrats and the currently well-funded Tea Party, but will result in the rapid drying up of Tea Party funding and influence - and the long-term survival off the GOP. 2. Stop representing and giving credence to the ignorant, bigoted, greedy, unreasonable, religious fundamentalist, corporate, fanatical, fascist and/or special interest minorities of your base - who now control your party. Their interests are not in the best interest of we, the people. Their interests are not in the best interest of our country or the world. Their interests are not in the best interest of the GOP. Although they dont realize that their declared interests are frequently against their own best interests, youve allowed your party to be hijacked by a relatively small number of people and groups whose interests lie only in their own self-interests. 3. End your wars on women, education, science, equality, the environment, minorities, the poor, the disabled, the elderly, and reason. You may ask yourselves: well, what would the GOP be, without these (destructive) crusades?! Exactly. And that is part of your problem. Your House is literally and metaphorically out of order; your morality has become skewed; and your priorities are way out of whack. 4. Honestly and tirelessly work for the people, instead of against us (under the guise of working for us). 5. Work across all aisles to dramatically reform election contribution laws - working toward publicly funded elections - so you can minimize the influence of dark and big money, which have largely contributed to the schizophrenic situation in which youve currently found yourselves. This is only a start, but its a good start. The GOP has become woefully misguided and corrupted - and for the sake of your parties survival, and the well-being of the country and the world, you must soon make significant changes - lest you unnecessarily take down the country and the world, right along with your party.
