An open letter to President Obama and Congress My heart and mind, my spirit and soul are deeply concerned and troubled over our government’s lack of concern for its own people and others who are being killed. Our government is out of control, out of touch, and has no moral compass and seems to not care or could care less. Somewhere around a million children, women, and men have died in a fight for freedom in Syria and no one really cares. Chemical warfare has been used and “we must form a committee to study it”, “to see if it really happened?” I am nothing, but I can tell you from the pictures, it was chemical warfare – no burns, no bombs, no bullets – just dead children, women, mothers, men, fathers and sons. All died at once and others showing signs of chemical agents. What is to study? What does a committee need to discuss? Now is the time to act, to help our brothers and sisters (as in the brotherhood of mankind) in Syria. No other president or congress would of stood for this. The American people must be in shock at the overwhelming loss of life and the lack of action of not only the U.S. but our Allies, and the U.N. What has happened to us? Mister President and Congress, this is a modern day Pearl Harbor! The red line has been crossed, the time for studying and talking is over. Please help these, our friends in Syria to get rid of a dictator, a killer, a monster who would use chemicals without regard or concern on his own people, innocent men, women, and children! The time to act and help is now. The America that we once knew would never standby and watch this happen and do nothing. Sincerely, John W. Uhler
