An open letter to the heads of the United States Government and to - TopicsExpress

An open letter to the heads of the United States Government and to the Citizens of the United States of America This partial governmental shutdown is to be blamed on many issues and not just one political party. The Democrats refuse to negotiate, the Republicans have signed a bill without reading it that lead to many tries to refute the bill, and the President is to blame for not doing his job and not calling an emergency session to reduce the likelihood of the shutdown. While the Republicans have tried to establish a compromise, the Democrats have refused to work with the compromises. This grandiose facade of our Government is going to be a laughing stock of the world. Unless we can astutely solve this issue in an efficient manner that satisfies both sides, we will continue to flounder as a country. We need to take personal accountability for these lawmakers. We, the people, have elected those men and women into a position that is supposed to make our Government function for the good of us. Part of the blame also, in part, lies with us, the citizens. We have allowed this issue to continue to rise. We voted on a bill that we were not allowed to see the contents until it was passed. At the time, we wanted socialized healthcare. It was not until we found out the cost, penalties, sacrifices, and business-driven motives of the ,now law, bill that we so blindly wanted. I do say business-driven do, in part, of the medical device tax that supports our foreign competitors and pays for the Affordable Care Act. I recall a man who once had severed the malign tie business has in politics. This man also broke trusts, supported the unions, and exhorted the people and government officials to be virtuous. This man was Theodore Roosevelt. He was a man whom the people could count on to be fair. Our current politicians should take note from this historic and imposing man. The House and Senate have a lot of pride. They should take heed to the phrase: “Pride cometh before a fall.” If they continue to destroy our rights and our freedoms, we need to exercise our rights and freedoms to extract them from their positions. L. David Fluty Head of the Bull Moose Party
