An open message to Nick Mitchell. Gday Nick, I am the Managing - TopicsExpress

An open message to Nick Mitchell. Gday Nick, I am the Managing Director and major shareholder of Ronstan. I have just read your exchange about tillers and experiences with Ronstan and Riley. I am sorry you had a poor experience with Ronstan internal staff eighteen months ago, but I cant change that now. I can only surmise that because Ronstan only deals through retailers and Riley sells to the public, there was that awkward moment when my staff member had to explain that he or she couldnt sell to you. I can only hope there was no rudeness, and knowing my staff as well as I do, I would be surprised if there was. I have great people and I can assure you that we will treat you with the utmost care and respect in any future communications with our company. I am glad you got what you needed from Riley, as Riley is a fine company; one I respect greatly. I need to put you straight on one thing. Ron and Stan were not US dudes; they are from Black Rock Yacht Club in Melbourne, and they started Ronstan in 1953. We are so proud of the fact we have grown Ronstan into one of the top three yacht fittings brands in the world. In a funny way, I kind of like the fact you think we are from overseas, as it is probably influenced by such facts as West Marine in California being our largest customer in the world. I am Australian, most of my partners and managers are Australian, and we are known the world over as that Aussie yacht fittings company! Because we are local (Braeside), I would like to offer you and any of your Paper Tiger mates a tour of our facility with me, and a coffee afterwards. Hopefully you will change your view of our company. Yours sincerely, Alistair Murray PS. Love Paper Tigers and always have. Many years ago we had a Paper Tiger National Champion, Neil Williams, designing products for us!
