An outspoken critic of Los Angeles Unified’s plan to spend $1 billion on iPads was reappointed Tuesday to his role overseeing school bond spending. Stuart Magruder, who had openly criticized the purchase of iPads with bond money, which is traditionally reserved for building new schools and improving aging facilities, was not reappointed on May 20 to the School Bond Oversight Committee.
