An unfortunate and inaccurate article was recently written about Brigantine in a PA newspaper portraying Brigantine as a crumbling town. The reporter misquoted the Realtor being interviewed numerous times. For those that read that completely false article here are the facts regarding Brigantine Beach, NJ; Brigantine’s beaches are in fabulous condition and the real estate market is stabilizing. The inventory of properties for sale in Brigantine is down 18% as compared to this time last year. Approximately 10% of Brigantine’s inventory is under contract and the median sales price is up 13% in May as compared to May 2012. Sales volume was down in the first quarter of 2013 obviously due to Hurricane Sandy but has returned to normal with this May having the exact number of sales as last May. Summer rentals in Brigantine are down 7% compared to last year but last year’s summer rental volume was at an all time high which makes this year an average year. Prices are up, inventory is down, sales volume has returned to normal and vacationers are flocking to the shore. In fact, Brigantine was recently voted one of the top 10 beaches in New Jersey. Those facts portray a realistic picture of Brigantine Beach, not what was published in that article.
