An unusually quiet day today, deep winter, just after Christmas - TopicsExpress

An unusually quiet day today, deep winter, just after Christmas with the neighbours also on holiday (in hibernation I think would be more accurate actually). Im listening to this Simon and Garfunkel classic now, such a bittersweet song which poses the age old question, Is it better to love and be hurt or to be lonely and never feel? Without loving, we never cry but we lose that which makes us human. A rock feels no pain but it has no humanity. This song, which is essentially about loneliness, has been described by Art Garfunkel as Paul Simons most neurotic composition. Whatever the case, no one should have to feel alone at this time of the year and it is still such a beautiful song. What are you listening to?
