An unwelcoming impression at the first point of contact by the taxi operators packed at the Jacksons airport is disheartening. Everyday, we have long ques of taxi operators waiting at the airport providing an efficient transport service to the general public, frequent travellers and tourists in the Nations Capital all under one condition, and that is, you always have to take the first cab on the que without choosing any in the middle. Thats it full stop, you have no choice but to abide by this illegal bill put in place under the heat of the sun at the airports main PMV bus stop by some ordinary people who are taxi drivers. The thing that may concern the general public is that a good number of these taxis are not road worthy putting the publics Lifes at risk. Let the travellers choose the vehicle that best suit their safety analysis. Could the Transport Authorities please do vehicle checks everyday at the airport and deal appropriately with those that are not road worthy. This is a bad practise and portrays a bad image to PNG Transport Department and the people of this country.
