An update from San Diego. Bill has been moved from Balboa Naval Medical Center to San Diego Rehabiliation Institute for his rehab to get underway. The stay at Balboa was short, but the rehab is needed to get started. Bill is working on getting transferred to the wheel chair, and gaining strength in his upper body. He is still not able to put any weight on the left side, so moving is very challenging. It is so good to see him trying all the movements with great effort and making the most of the equipment that is around him. This stay is going to be plus or minus six weeks, all depending on the progress as the time goes. It may even be longer, but he will have rehab on an outpatient basis after the rehab center stay. It is wonderful to see him after the two months of medical care, and all the prayers, thoughts, and communications that have been sent our way during this time. It will be 9 weeks come Wed. or two months tomorrow since the accident, and not sure where the time has gone. I am getting ready to go home, and try to get things there back in order. Michael has been good about keeping the workings of home going, but he is now with me here in San Diego. He has been able to visit Bill since coming down. He, Alan and Jessica arrived here on Sept. 1. Again thank each and every one for the thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. Bill still has a long road ahead, and we are still keeping him in the prayers, thoughts, and communications going forward. will keep you posted on the time when I will be leaving San Diego for home.
