An update on another one of our Puppy Farm goldies and possibly the youngest of the six. Meet Chelsea who is currently in foster care with Suzanne and Jeff Radbone along with their own goldie Sadie (GRR rescue 2013) and Migs. Hi Gail, Heres a Chelsea update for you.... Chelsea has relaxed considerably over the past month. She is probably under 12 months old, and is a small, quiet girl, who is learning to live inside a family home. She is now not afraid of the family members, is keen to get pats and cuddles, but is cautious meeting new people. While most kitchen appliances, the vacuum cleaner, broom, and ironing board still startle her, she snored inside through recent storms and enjoys the air conditioner rather than the great outdoors... just proving shes a clever little girl. Due to coming on heat when she arrived, she hasnt left the confines of our backyard. She has learnt she will be fed twice daily and is slowly becoming less frantic around food, but is still fed in a muffin tin so she has to take time to eat rather than hoovering food down. She has been treated for the heavy hookworm burden and gastric condition she came with. A recent grooming session has her smelling much better (a blessing to all of us) and it will take a while for her coat to gain condition. Chelsea has learnt to sit and were working on walking on a leash. She will try and scoot along sitting down just in case she gets extra treats! She still sometimes walks behind me with her head on my leg but her new 4 legged brothers and sister are teaching her more things than we can fathom. She is overjoyed on seeing us in the mornings, has taken to chewing sticks, the occasional stone, a tv remote control and a door mat havent survived, so she is launching into being a puppy and leaving her past behind her.
