An update provided by Dr. Frank James: Foster Farms, a Farmerville, La., establishment, is recalling approximately 39,747 pounds of frozen pre-cooked chicken products due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The product was distributed to Costco retail stores in Washington State. FSIS and the company have received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products. The USDA link below provides more details. Our Costco contacts tell us that they pulled all product on Wednesday and notified members yesterday. They will be destroying all on-hand product found in their stores, but product may still be held by consumers. Please share this information with your friends and family to help spread the word!
