An urgent message to those of you in the San Diego area, or who know someone who is: If you have room to take in a dog or two or three, the families evacuating Camp Pendleton due to the ongoing fires need help. Contact Erin at Bark Avenue at Mission Animal Hospital in Oceanside at (760) 433-3763 ext. 7 if you can offer care of these dogs. Many of these families are the wives (or husbands) of deployed Marines. They dont need to worry about their dogs, and area boarding facilities are full. Thanks to my friend, dog trainer and ex-Marine Liz Palika, for getting the word out!
