[Analyzed the policy of the Liberal Democratic Party] The Nippon Strategic Affairs Institute(NSAI) is a private think tank and is not a government organization. Moreover, NSAI is studying security policy based on classical liberalism and spreading theory and thought of Ludwig von Mises in japan. Today, The election of the House of Councilors in Japan. The House of Councilors has a 242 seat and the term of office is six years. The House of Councilors has an election every three years. NSAI analyzed the policy of the Liberal Democratic Party, because the Liberal Democratic Party is expected to win in this election. The Liberal Democratic Party was founded 57 years ago. The Liberal Democratic Party was a liberal political party. How is it now? If this report is read, it will be able to know about the present condition of the classical liberalism in Japan. Analysis is divided into four items. First item is Economic Policy. The greatest point at issue in this election is an economic policy. “Abenomics(Abe+economics)” is the economic policy of the Abe Administration. People bear the favorable impression against the economic policy of the Abe Administration from the hope of economic recovery. However, the purpose of the Abe Administration is a tax increase. Economic recovery is never the purpose. Prime Minister Abe has advocated Keynesian policy as optimal economic policy. However, The past prime ministers of The Liberal Democratic Party administration have also adopted Keynesian policy as optimal economic policy. As a result, the governmental debt increased. Prime Minister Abe did not notice the danger. “Abenomics” consists of three policies. First policy is monetary policy. Monetary policy is Quantitative easing. The Bank of Japan plunged into Quantitative easing from April, 2013. Surely the stock price rose by the financial policy. Meanwhile, monetary worth fell by the financial policy. Prime Minister Abe and his backer have not noticed that deterioration of monetary value brings people the tragedy. Second policy is fiscal policy. The Abe Administration took spending policies in order to make a “Tough Country”. “Tough Country” means the country strong against a disaster. Japan experienced a massive earthquake and tsunami two years ago. Based on this experience, the Japanese government undertakes major public works and is trying to make a tough country. The Japanese government has formed the plan for making a tough country. The Japanese government is going to invest 15 trillion yen in three years. Third policy is growth policy. The Abe Administration planned the policy called "a Japanese revival strategy." Prime Minister Abe attached the subtitle to this policy. It is "JAPAN is BACK." This policy consists of "strengthening of industrial infrastructure", "creation of the domestic market", and "acquisition of global competitiveness." I consider that Prime Minister Abe is wrong. Prime Minister Abe has not noticed that its economic policy is the same as the economic policy performed once in the United States. The economic policy of the Clinton administration recovered business and made finances black figures. However, this continued four years. Why is it? The economic policy of the Clinton administration was a means for obtaining the expense of social security. The Clinton administration increased social security cost. The expense was covered by the tax increase. To be continued... (Masayuki Ueyama)
