Anambra State chapter of All Progressives Congress, has flayed the recent demolition of three buildings reportedly providing shelter to suspected criminals in the state, on the directive of Governor Willie Obiano. In a press statement issued to newsmen yesterday, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Okelo Madukaife, described such a directive as not only vile and crude, but also patently runs against the grains of fundamental human rights enshrined in Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended. The party said: “In our considered view, it could be a deliberate destruction of evidence which could point to the direction of some of the major partakers in the demolition process. “However, for the avoidance of doubt, we wish to emphasize that there cannot be any justification for kidnapping a fellow human being, and it remains not just a crime according to the criminal statute, but also a cardinal sin against humanity.
