*And Act of Tender Love* Luke 23:53 (KJV) .And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. ../.. . Joseph of Arimathea took a big risk bu participating in Jesus burial. He was a prominent member of the Sanhedrin, the council instrumental in Jesus execution. Joseph had apparently been a secret disciple of Jesus for awhile, but he risked his position---presumably refusing to consent to the Sanhedrins decision. That step led to an increasing boldness resulting in Joseph helping with Jesus burial preparations. He even surrendered his own tomb for Jesus, body. . Why would a man with so much prominence risk all to bury Jesus? Though it might seem foolish, it was far from folly. Joseph was driven by love. His actions were not a political statement or an act of rebellion against the religious establishment. They were those of a friend deeply moved with compassion for a man who had transformed his life. . Has Jesus similarly transformed our life? May His love for us, display on the cross, lead to our love for Him displayed through tender and loving acts of compassion.
