And He [Jesus] spoke this parable to CERTAIN which TRUSTED in THEMSELVES that they were RIGHTEOUS, and DESPISED others (Luke 18:9)… What an ACCURATE DESCRIPTION of the CHARACTER and MINDSET of the MAJORITY of the Church today! For we spend almost ALL of our TIME, ENERGY and EFFORTS on each other, and next to NONE on the SPIRITUAL THINGS of God, or the LOST in the WORLD who NEED the Gospel of SALVATION. We feel as though WE have OBTAINED our RIGHTEOUSNESS through Christ, so feel NO NEED to SHARE what Jesus has DONE for us to those He’s yet to reach. This is WHY we have CONSTRUCTED so many FALSE DOCTRINES and DOCTRINES of EXCLUSION to keep the WORLD out of our CLIQUE and SOCIAL CLUB called “CHURCH.” We don’t want to be SOILED, TAINTED or STAINED by having any ASSOCIATION with the SINNERS of the WORLD, as though we didn’t at some time come out from AMONG them! Now all we DESIRE is to PLAY CHURCH, BEG God for BLESSINGS, and PRETEND we’re “Christlike.” But if TRUTH be TOLD, we’re GREATER HYPOCRITES than ALL the FALSE RELIGIONS and CULTS of the WORLD that we DESPISE so much. For at least they have the BOLD AUDACITY to spread their LIES and RECRUIT for their CAUSE, while we HIDE the TRUTH, and AVOID doing any WITNESSING and EVANGELIZING the LOST for Jesus!!! There’s a TERM for that…”SELF-RIGHTEOUS HYPOCRITES.”
