‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’] Matthew 6:13 (NASB) When was the last time God led you into temptation? Many people blame God for their problems and temptations, however, God does not lead us into temptations. However, He does allow us to be tested by them. As believers we should pray to be delivered from these trying times and for deliverance from Satan, the evil one, and his deceit. Do not let anyone fool you. All Christians struggle with temptation, but not everyone has the same temptations. Sometimes it is so subtle that we do not even realize what is happening to us. God has promised that he will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. 1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” Ask God to help you recognize temptation and to give you strength to overcome it and choose God’s way instead. We must be careful especially when we are emotional or physical stress, such as loneliness, being tired, making big decisions, or uncertain circumstances. However, he also likes to tempt us through our strengths, where we are most susceptible to pride. In other words, we must guard ourselves at all times. Remember the Lord has given us His Holy Spirit to comfort and help us. Do not try to overcome sin alone, but use the power the Lord has given
