And, in case you missed it, we are back and because of pressure from evangelicals who hate the LGBQT community, World Vision has reversed their decision. My heart feels angry that hate runs so deep in the American church that equality can not stand; that unity for one cause can not prevail. But, my heart knows God is bigger and the mission of World Vision is to fight poverty. They will keep doing that and we need to continue to support that. But it is our job to love people and set the standard and so I will continue to speak on behalf of my friends in the LGBQT community who are victims of prejudice and bigotry. The state of the church is a pretty sad thing and today I feel ashamed to have any part of it.
