And now more How To Cultivate Happiness? Part 5: Learn Continuously by taking in new information. Friends, happiness is what we all strive for...not a single person I have ever met has said to me that they would prefer to live in fear of cyclones, sadness, or be depressed. But how do we mentally cultivate happiness?At some time in our lives we will have met a person who is always happy - even amidst such tragic life trials that would have brought others to their knees. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that this person does not feel grief, fear of cyclones or sadness - but this extraordinary individual does not let it overwhelm their entire life. So...over the following weeks I intend to explore the wonders of cultivating happiness. Learn Continuously by taking in new information - you’ll then have less time to dwell on the past and something to smile about and look forward to in your future. Hindsight is always 20-20 vision - and hindsight has a very real link to depression thanks our preoccupation with dwelling. Dwelling on what we should have done, what we should have been or what we should have said. Problem is, no matter how much we dwell on that moment long passed, we can’t change it. There is only one way forward, there’s no going back, so steer clear of dwelling on your hindsight and live in the now. But how? Keep up to date with the latest news regarding your career and hobbies. Try new and daring things to spark your interest - and these hobbies do not have to be extreme sports such as dancing, skiing, surfing or skydiving. How about that pile of novels that you haven’t finished - pick one up and go to the beach. What about the jigsaw puzzle gathering dust under a layer of the kid’s clothes - surly the clothes can live somewhere else.
