And now, the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of…“The Carport Man.” The weeks slowly pass as a wooden skeleton slowly materializes over my driveway (It began July 19th). I corner Carport Man who tells me he had to fire all his help cuz they never showed up for work. A-Haha! – ow, I jush bit my tongue. I’m glad, after all, that he’s here and not stuck out in the wilderness somewhere fixing his transmission all while up to his hubcaps in mud and no cell phone so he can’t get his mother-in-law to the hospital in time to see if the person who got run over by the truck is really her long lost sister. Man should get the Nobel Crisis Prize if you ask me. Anyway, today he’s up amidst the piney rib-cage hammering away while his girlfriend, decked to the nines in a cute summer dress and matching shoes; she’s down below handing up boards and tin. Now I hope there’s no stiletto-phobes out there cuz let me just say, they add height, ever think of that? It should be mandatory on any construction site. Stepladders. Phsu – how…inside the box. Now you take a stiletto. Hmmm, now that’s versatility. I’m thinking stepladder, a hammer, a paperweight, could be a weapon, you can straddle all kinds of boards and sharp thingys with them on too.
