And our Trip Down Memory Lane continues!! As Ann Charette commented on a post below...and then came Puppy #4...and ..and...well we THOUGHT, PRAYED AND HOPED HE/SHE was coming. Not the case. Calls to ER and our Vet and then my friend Heidi Theis and professional Breeder of Theishof GSDs, anything to help us as Mamma Mia was unable to pass the next little munchkin!! A long, delay, we were instructed to assist so there I was on the phone while calling out instructions to Dana as she turned the puppy around and literally had to pull him out! Plop! Gadumph! Amniotic sack broken much earlier, this birth was dry and all the fluid was drowning this poor kiddo!! We worked on this little guy for a good 15 mins. Alternating mouth to snout, compressions, suction and siphoning of nose and throat. Dana and I kept passing him back and forth, Mia looked on, I prayed outloud, Lord, let him live and then with tears flowing, Dana and I heard an ever so slight cry. My gosh it was weak!! We gave him to Mamma and she continued licking him and we prayed he would begin to suckle. He did! Weakly. But he did! This was our Miracle (now Toby). The little guy was trapped in the birth canal sideways. He stopped traffic (so to speak) and managed to change the course of the next births!! Maria Letty and Q Pedro Quezada can tell you, our little escape artist has kept them on their toes too! LOL!
