And since I love these girls soooooo much, I am going to offer their readers an exclusive chance to be beta readers. Here is an excerpt of the book. If you think it is something you would like to beta read, then say so in the comments. What happens when you receive a letter in the middle of the semester inviting you to a school that only exists in myths? It was a Friday night when Sabrina Wittenberg forgot two measures of The Chopin Concerto No. 1 during her first graduate concert. Shortly before the concert, her boyfriend caused a scene in the foyer, calling her a freak and incompetent. She should have known then that something bad would happen. Little did she know, in the back of room leaning against a column was a lone bystander who took in the scene with great interest. Nothing escaped his piercing eyes. Oliver Janacek had everything. He had studied with best violin teachers in the world. He wrote books on chaos theory, was voted a member of MENSA at the young age of 5, and was generally bored with being the premiere violinist in the world. He wanted passion and intimacy- two things which had eluded him thus far in relationships. His new school, The Conservatoire, was the only thing keeping his interest. It would shift the paradigm of the music world. He and his select group of friends had seen the untapped musical potential in so many students throughout their careers. At his level, technical perfection was expected. But recording after recording lacked something. Music was not about technique, music was about feeling. And Oliver craved feeling and emotion. I fact he demanded it in all aspects of his life. He watched her take her bow after performing a concerto that few had every attempted. She was something. Her program contained only three pieces. Four short of the required 7, but these were not just any pieces. She chose three of the most challenging pieces in the piano repertoire: The Grieg Concerto in a minor, followed by La Campanella Variations by Liszt, and then ending the recital with Chopins Concerto No.1 in e minor. Her advisor had warned the older student not to feel pressured by playing this impossible set. She would apparently not be swayed. Sabrina had something to prove. He wondered what she could prove to someone like him. Even her name, Sabrina was filled with promise of innocence and passion. He let it whisper across his lips. The excitement he felt was barely contained in the lopsided smirk he hid behind. There was something about her. Something he needed, and Oliver Janacek didnt need anything. Ducking his head when he felt her gaze, he played on his phone, avoiding her glance. He made a note to be sure that she received a letter and a pen. The new semester already looked better.
