And so on to the one couple in the Junior Pairs Competition at the Sheffield IJS last week, Molly Lanaghan and Jake Astill representing Sheffield. Dressed in fetching lilac and black, and skating their SP to music from the Patch Adams soundtrack, they demonstrated nice unison on their side by side jump (a double lutz), good speed in their lift and included in their program a solid throw double loop and a L4 flying change foot combination spin. They received a score of 34.50 for their SP. Their FP the following day was skated to Bohemian Rhapsody and opened with a very good toe lasso lift that had a lovely light dismount. Both Molly, 15, and Jake, 19, seemed to thoroughly enjoy skating their program, which also included a very nice throw double salchow, and as always Molly held excellent free leg positions throughout. Unfortunately they received no mark for their pairs spin to finish and ended the Competition with a score of 53.79 for their FP, and a total score of 88.29. JCB
