And still we ride on the backs of thunderheads 1. You were my innocence Trapped in adolescences passionate pastime Picking pairs of stars to tie our fates to 2. We danced hand in hand through tornadoes and Tsunamis Rode thunderheads while searching space for a place to take as our home. 3. We were young -Once- Back before the gods of the sky fiddled with fate to make a symphony out of the music of our lives 4. I never had a tallent for music Melodies never came in true But words Words flowed from fantasies involving you and me and.... 5 I have pressed pen to paper till my fingers bled Dipped knife point into red ink And painted characters who may have fit our molds right 6. I never lied to you your name is still etched like lighting down the center of my brain and even now three years later lava still pours from the craters that our love left in my spine 7. I remember being young Before time put my joints to the rack Before you watched me crack from the base my parking lot spine It was a timed explosion Ill never forget that 8. Its been one year since I saw you last And I still feel you falling through me in the rain But now I dont feel the pain when you float through my perfect sky 9 before the end You told me Never stop I etched those words into heart flap And rode them into the dark like a thunder head 10. Sometimes the most important thing we feel we have to say gets lost in translation No matter how many times we try to gut the truth into the easiest explanation This is my truth This story has been told I am done now All of my poetry people, my good friend James Robitschek posted a poem tonight and I said if he did Id post one too.
