And the ICAN saga continues... This is the email I received. My response in the comments. The Central Peninsula chapter will not be holding a meeting on Tuesday due to the conflict that is happening locally. Although we requested the teleconference before the ICAN website was misappropriated, we would still like to speak with you in person. We can record the phone call as you requested and can send you a copy if you like in a mp3. Between now and that time, we would like to request for you to remove the personal phone numbers of the board members from the ICAN site as that is private information and a violation of privacy for those of us that do not share our phone numbers publicly. While we respect your right share your opinions, we ask that you not use our websites and support spaces to do so. All ICAN sites are property of ICAN and are to be returned to ICAN national, or in this case the chapter, when requested. Unfortunately, this is the very situation that we were seeking to avoid when we asked both you and the doulas involved in the initial dispute to please resolve your personal issues before attending ICAN functions and serving in leadership positions because of the negative energy that it brings to the organization. However, we would still like to ask you directly to remove the information from the chapter website and give the login over to the webmaster at [email protected] as opposed to us having to go to the extreme of seeking legal action to get it removed and returned back to ICAN. We do not think that was your intention. We would like to resolve this without having to escalate this any further than it is, as this is what we were seeking to avoid by asking the parties involved in the initial dispute to refrain from meetings until the issues were resolved personally and in the community. We have already received complaints from people in your community who are upset that the website is being used the way that it is because it takes away from the mothers using the website to seek support in your community specifically from the chapter, which once again, was what we wanted to avoid. Please let us know if you will be joining us during the teleconference as soon as you can.
