And the hits keep coming - my endocrinologist told me my blood - TopicsExpress

And the hits keep coming - my endocrinologist told me my blood work isnt getting better and that he actually had a very in-depth consult with a thyroid cancer specialist at Hopkins for several hours. This specialist wants to see me, as Im a rare case given my age and type of cancer. My endo is hesitant to send me, though, as hes afraid Ill get lost in the shuffle of people who come in and out of Hopkins (and having been to their Lupus clinic, thats a valid concern). Still, this specialist says he has never, in 30 years of practice, seen anything like my case. As my endo said, You are really one in a million - and not the one in a million we normally like to see. So - yay. Meds arent working, treatments arent working, and a world-renowned specialist is baffled. Im beyond upset. So were trying a new combo of pills and doing even more blood work. A question, though, for anyone who may know the answer: have you heard of radiation injections performed in-office? As in, RAI (131) or another form of radiation is given weekly via injection, and can be done during a routine visit? Just wondering if anyone has heard of that or experienced it before. Now, off to be queasy and sleep. Im suppose to limit my activity even further. Please, universe, lets just cut this crap back a bit. Even if Im sick, give James a break. Or give me enough of a break so I can make sure he is 100% well. Whatever compromise you want to make, Im down with it.
