If youve become so apathetic to word of a human being, laying prone on a cold, exposed stairway, supposedly inaccessible without triggering alarms, you have failed at what you are paid to do. You have fatally failed. If you have a daughter or mother or partner, I would ask you to think about them, and imagine them unwell, injured and needing help. Now picture them surrounded by law enforcement and security and professionals trained in human care giving and safety. What does it feel like to imagine your child or sibling or parent or lover being ignored day after day after day. Add this part, someone says I just found a person in the stairwell but you learn nobody cared, or they became apathetic, or they had a coffee break. The person you loved was ignored and left alone like garbage. Which is worse? Living with knowing you and your system were capable and guilty of this scenario? Or knowing and dealing with this actually happening to your mother, lover, sinking or friend??
