And there came an angel of the LORD,and sat under an Oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.(Judges 6 vs 11). That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional Today. In our Focal Scripture,Gideon went out to thresh wheat at a time of war. Granted that he tried to hide it but it really wasnt safe at all. Most people would rather hide from the enemy at a time of war,but for Gideon, there was something that needed to be achieved, and he stepped out to make it happen despite the risk involved. The inconvenience of the season didnt stop Gideon. Isnt it true that sometimes, the threats to our progress become excuses why we wont take a risk to make progress? Sometimes, our rivals, competitors, challenges, past failures, other peoples failures etc become excuses for us to fold our arms and do nothing, and we end up remaining at a spot. Friends, life itself is a risk, and it even becomes riskier when you dont take a risk. You wont make progress if you spend all your time debating on the outcome of actions you are yet to take. It may be dangerous to take a step sometimes, but the danger of taking a step is more worthy than the safety of inaction. Things may never be completely convenient at any time, and your only option might just be to take a risk. Dont allow the fear of failure to rob you of success. Dont be counted among the cold and timid souls who neither know victory or defeat. Dont allow the cowardly noise of discouragement around you to silence the daring voice of courage and bravery within you. Remember, a ship is always safe at the shore, but that is not what it is built for. Step out by faith on the seas of life and you shall see uncommon results! Prayerfully take that risk now! Pray with me,Lord, give me Grace to take risks that will bring me uncommon results in Jesus name.
