And these are my three positives for Day 3 1 - I feel very lucky that I enjoy food and this time I mean simply eating it. I know there are people who dont notice what they eat and who could happily eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Think how much pleasure Id miss if I was one of them! 2 - So many people feel envious that I live in Italy, and whats more in Bologna, but it gets better! I live a minutes walk from the best Salumeria (selling top quality hand rolled pasta, cured hams, cheeses and more) and the best Café in town on one side, and on the other side, the best Enoteca (wine shop, where you can also snack or lunch on salumi or cheese sandwiches, or share a platter of the same to go with your glass if wine). Major positve!! 3 - Ive had a few instances of a negative converting into a positive that may be just my luck or may be due to my living in Italy, where people are on each others side, and can demonstrate great empathy and solidarity for each other. Recently I left a cloth shopping bag behind (with my favourite sunglasses in it) in a café and didnt miss it for a few days. When I went back to ask if someone had handed it in, it took a bit of searching, but yes, someone had, phew! Not the first time this has happened to me in Italy over the 18 years I have lived here. Once I had my wallet stolen out of my hand bag at Bologna train station and two women found it, minus money but with cards all still in it. My card was in it too and they phoned me and told me they had a train to catch but if I got to the station within 15 minutes they would meet me and return it to me. Lovely ladies! I had both my handbag and cell phone handed in to the train guard when I left them behind on the train and got them back. Two separate losses about 10 years apart, its not like I forget something every day! I was so very pleased, both times, and I feel pleased every time I remember.
