And until a few years before the invasion of canterlot this was the changeling hordes source of love, chrysalis realized that snowflake wasnt unique, but was however one of many, so in the time snowflake was still alive chrysalis learned everything she could of ponykind from her, while her love fed the hive. One day a very old snowflake knew her time was almost up, and wanted to return to her homeland, however Chrysalis decided that letting her do this would be to risky for her master plan, after she couldnt talk her out of leaving she had her guards capture her and put her in a cell, being abused on a daily basis. Chrysalis would us her magic to make it appear that she too had been captured, so snowflakes love stayed strong for Chrysalis and the hive ,until her dying breath. With this dying Breath Chrysalis threw the mangled pegasis body to the hordes, allowing them to feed on any love that may be left as she made her final preparations for the invasion of canterlot.
