And what a blinding gig The English Beat put on for Auckland tonight! There was so much powerful energy put into familiar songs that you wouldnt normally relate that to, Tears Of A Clown & Mirror In The Bathroom to name but two! But honestly, it really was a blinding show and I couldnt stop dancing! Sweat was dripping! I bought another English Beat t-shirt from their merchandise because my Street Team t-shirt was soaked, but the new t-shirt ended up soaked too at the after gig party held at The Dogs Bollix. It was a brilliantly entertaining after gig party arranged by Vic Summerfield (aka DJ Skin & Bones) & Darren Bower-Warner and The English Beat were there too. What a night! Thank you Dave Wakeling and we look forward to welcoming you back to our shores in the very near future!!! ;-) xxx Hilights for me were that, 1. Dave Wakeling dedicated Youre Too Nice Too Talk Too to The Auckland Street Team for The English Beat. 2. That when I bid my farewells to Dave, he said see you Smiler cos hed noticed this Cheshire Cat hadnt stopped grinning since 4pm and it was now 2am, lol!!! 3. That I met some wonderful new friends that have the same passion for Ska that I do! It cant get much better than that!!! xxx
